Eighteen Years of Video with Walter S. and wife, Karen
M.
S&M Video
Productions began around Christmas 1986, when we bought our first video
camera.. Since then, we have done many original productions, as well as a few
professional projects.
Want to see
some of our videos, or buy our DVDs? Click here!
Contrary to what
the name might imply (it's our initials), our videos are all
"G" rated, even though some of them are pretty strange. Our first
video camera and editing recorders were Panasonic VHS industrial grade gear,
complete with an editing controller. For graphics and special effects, we used
an Amiga 2000 computer. In 1988 we published an article about our video editing
system in Radio-Electronics magazine, which was featured on the
cover. Currently, we use an all digital system centered around our dedicated
video computer.
S&M Video
Productions now has a dedicated Yahoo Group! If you live in the Baton Rouge,
Louisiana area, and are interested in original video production, check us out
at: http://movies.groups.yahoo.com/group/Scott_Morton_Video/
We also have an
Audio and Video Conversion Service to convert your old VHS
tapes and photos to DVD, and audio cassettes and LPs to audio CD.
We also run the
Cajun Clicker's Digital Video
Special Interest Group

This is our analog editing system, built
around an Amiga 2000 computer. We originally set this up in Knoxville in 1987.
In 1988 we moved everything to Baton Rouge.

This is our current, all digital, editing system.
Everything is built around our editing computer, Captain Video. We built
this P4, 2.4 GHz machine in June, 2003 with the help of ACOM of Louisiana

This is our latest arrival, the only video camera
with a built in warp core!
The Canon GL2
In all of our
productions, Walter serves as technical director and primary videographer, and
Karen as secondary videographer, original music composer, and video editor.
Karen directs most of our work.

videos. She has made over 25 music videos to date. The best ones are listed
below.
- "Batman, Starring Adam West" is Caped
Club's parody song combined with the 1966 "Batman" movie.
Thanks, Allyson D., for the song.
- "Cars," to what else but Gerry &
Sylvia Anderson's Supercar?
- "Destination Unknown" to Babylon 5
episodes concerning the fate of Babylon 4. (NOTE: This was made before
"War Without End" aired. Karen is contemplating a re-cut of this
video. Stay tuned for more details!)
- "Does Anybody Know What Time It Is?"
Yes, it is Doctor Who (number 4 to be precise), a natural for the classic
Chicago song.
- "Elvira." Just what the title
implies: A combination of the Oak Ridge Boys and "Elvira, Mistress of
the Dark."
- "Fire With Fire" is Kirk vs.
Kahn... To Kansas. If you don't know which Star Trek movie Karen
used, you have been out of touch for more than a decade!
- "I'm Too Sexy" -- "Batman
Returns" gets a well deserved send-up with Right Said Fred's most
famous song.
- "No More Tears," an overview
of Babylon 5 seasons 1 & 2, with Karen's somewhat twisted spin.
(Yes, Virginia, it's the Ozzie Osborne song!)
